The Helambu trail is an easy trek which lies north of Kathmandu. It is also one of the closest treks to Kathmandu offering an easy loop through villages of varied ethnic makeup. The trek starts with a short drive to Sundarijal and a walk through several different villages of Tamangs, Brahmin, Chettri and Sherpas. This trek is culturally interesting with good views of mountains such as Langtang, Naya Kanga and other small peaks. Also from Mulkharka (1895m) gives you a beautiful panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley.
